Experience

Cecil M. Boone brings an illustrious 26-year career in law enforcement to his role as an integral part of our team. A retired Detective Sergeant with the Division of Criminal Justice, Cecil has extensive experience in major crimes, including criminal investigations of white-collar fraud, financial crimes, professional standards/internal affairs, and homeland security.

Throughout his career, Cecil was involved with various facets of law enforcement, including working as a Task Force Officer (TFO) with the New Jersey State Police, New Jersey’s Twenty-one (21) County Prosecutor’s Offices, HIDTA/DEA, FBI and OHS, and ATF.

As a dedicated educator, Boone has served as an instructor. He has overseen investigations and operations, especially those conducted undercover.  His role as a resilience officer and mental health advocate addresses the critical issue of mental health distress and suicide within the law enforcement community, emphasizing Boone's holistic approach to law enforcement and community well-being.

Education

Cecil obtained his Doctorate of Education, Master of Arts in Police Graduate Studies, and an Education Specialist Degree from Seton Hall University. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics/Political Science from Bucknell University.  In addition to his role in active shooting training, Cecil served as an instructor for the TOP GUN and Undercover Narcotics Initiative Training (U.N.I.T.). His teaching emphasized ethical and professional standards, and he actively recruits and mentors students in partnership with colleges and universities throughout the state.

Military

Thank you, Cecil, for protecting our Country. For close to a decade, you proudly served your country as a member of the Army National Guard.

A Little Something Extra

Cecil is a former professional football player who also played the game for a Div. 1 university.  Always a fan, he now coaches football for high schools and leagues. He also holds two varsity letters for coaching women’s basketball in high school and college. Cecil is a true scholar athlete and a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.
